Week of December 19-21

We packed in quite a bit this week!  We finished our chapter book "Joshua's Song" and are enjoying reading "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever".  In math, we are delving deeper into decimals.  We've begun studying the southeast region in social studies, and we learned about Old Testament prophecies of Jesus's birth in religion.

I am not posting an official newsletter for our short week, but here are a few reminders:

*Our quiz over the southeast states and capitals will be on Monday, December 19.  We have reviewed in class, and students should have flashcards and maps to study from as well.

*Your child should bring his or her gift exchange gift by Tuesday, December 20.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  Stay warm!

Newsletter for December 12-16

One of the neatest things we did this week was participating in "The Hour of Code".  We used coding tutorials from www.code.org to learn about computer programing.  The students learned so much!  I loved watching them improve problem-solving skills, work together, and be creative as they learned a new skill.  Be sure to ask your child about it!  Here are a few photos:
