May 15-19

We will have a final spelling test on Friday, May 19.  It is the "Year-End Review" - words can be found at this link: Year-End Review.  Students have the same weekly spelling homework options (SpellingCity, create a spelling video, or complete the spelling relay worksheet), but I will give students until Friday, May 19, to turn in this assignment.

Thursday, May 18, is our "50 States Challenge"!  Students should have brought home a packet of materials to help them study, and we have also been reviewing in class.

Notes and Reminders

*Please remember that for lower level pick-up after school, parents need to park and come to the curb to get their child.  During the colder months, we teachers were a bit lax in enforcing this rule.  However, for the safety of everyone we really need parents and students to meet at the curb and walk together across the parking lot.  Thank you for your help!

*Fidget Spinners: These super cool devices can be helpful educational tools to increase attention and focus for some students.  They also can become distracting toys in the classroom.  If parents and I have discussed benefits for their child, they are certainly acceptable in our classroom.  But, if it is just a toy for playing, I'll ask students to keep them in their backpacks.  Please let me know if you have any questions!
